Founded in 1953, Lucart is an Italian multinational now active in more than 70 countries worldwide. The Group has 11 production plants in Europe (Italy, France, Spain, the United Kingdom and Hungary), as well as logistics centres in Italy and Greece (Athens). Lucart is strongly committed to accelerating the transition from a linear economy to a circular one, placing circular business models at the centre of its strategy. Lucart is the second-largest European player by tissue production volumes and is the market leader in the Away-From-Home (AFH) segment in both Italy and Hungary. The AFH division offers innovative hygiene solutions that include tissue paper products made with virgin, recycled and regenerated fibres, as well as “airlaid” paper, which uses air in the processing of cellulose fibres. The division also offers dispensing systems and hand-hygiene solutions, positioning itself as an international operator in the soap market as well. The Group's brands act as reference partners for professional operators, guaranteeing high service standards and full end-user satisfaction.
Lucart has a production capacity of 440,000 tonnes per year and, since 2019, has also been active in the skincare sector (soaps and disinfectants), with a production capacity of 12 million litres per year. The Group generates an annual consolidated turnover of around 700 million euros and operates through three business units: AFH (the core division dedicated to the professional market), Consumer (organised large-scale retail) and B2B (the production of semi-finished goods for the sector's converting companies). Lucart is committed to developing circular business models aimed at regenerating and enhancing natural, social and economic capital, with the goal of building a sustainable future together with its stakeholders. The company offers solutions for the hygiene and protection of products, designed to safeguard people and the environments in which they live and work. Sustainability inspires innovation processes and stakeholder relations, guiding the Group's long-term vision.
In September 2024, Ecovadis awarded the Lucart Group the Platinum rating for the third consecutive year, a recognition achieved by only 1% of the companies assessed worldwide. Ecovadis is an international ESG rating agency that each year analyses more than 130,000 companies in over 220 sectors, assessing environmental performance and social responsibility management systems.
Lucart's strategy is based on four guiding principles. The Group aims to generate a positive impact by developing high-quality products while respecting environmental resources and the well-being of communities, adopting responsible technologies and management practices along the entire value chain. Quality is understood not only as product excellence, but as a culture of transparency, reliability and continuous improvement, supported by certified processes and solid stakeholder relations. Innovation represents a pillar of growth, through constant investment in research, eco-design and partnerships to offer competitive and sustainable solutions. Integrity, finally, guides all activities, ensuring legality, responsibility and fairness towards employees, partners and local communities.
